Biography

Gabriela Suarez, MD, attended medical school at Universidad San Francisco de Quito in Quito, Ecuador. She then completed her residency in internal medicine at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, Texas. Furthering her education, she completed an endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon. Her clinical interests include thyroid gland disorders, adrenal insufficiency, pituitary tumors, and diabetes.

Dr. Suarez is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine and endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism. She is also certified in densitometry and obesity medicine. Dr. Suarez is part of many professional memberships including, but not limited to, the Endocrine Society and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists.

In her free time, she uses dance as an emotional outlet and says it helps her connect with others and stay in shape. Her favorite part of dancing is it’s liberating qualities from day-to-day stress and how it allows her to communicate with others through music. For several years, Dr. Suarez performed in competitive dancing and now focuses more on perfecting technique. She also enjoys spending her free time viewing the world through the eyes of her three-year-old daughter and spoiling her two dachshund rescues.
