Biography

Dr. Julia Frankel was born and raised in Williamsburg, Virginia. She received her Bachelor of Arts in biology from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. She then earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia. Dr. Frankel completed her family medicine residency at Riverside Brentwood Family Medicine in Newport News, Virginia, where she served as chief resident her final year.

Dr. Frankel is board certified in family medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Medicine. She enjoys improving the lives of the patients she treats and finding the root of her patients’ problems. Dr. Frankel likes getting to know her patients and creating a positive impact within the community through medicine. Within the full scope of family medicine, she enjoys women’s health, preventative medicine, and sports medicine. 

In her spare time, Dr. Frankel enjoys the farm she lives on with her husband and everything that comes with it, including gardening vegetables and flowers, feeding the pigs and chickens, and playing with their many dogs. She also loves to be with her family and friends, travel, cook, and is always up for an adventure.
