Biography

Beryl Sandler Brown, MD, FACS, graduated from University of Richmond with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Bachelor of Arts in Music in 1987. She received her medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in 1991 and completed her general surgery residency in 1996 at Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine.

Dr. Brown is board-certified by The American Board of Surgery, with special interest in breast surgery and breast cancer surgery. She is certified in advanced biopsy techniques in breast ultrasound and in breast stereotactic, including 3-D stereotactic biopsy techniques, as well as partial breast irradiation catheter techniques. Dr. Brown is the only general surgeon certified in stereotactic core biopsies in Virginia Beach. She has completed Hidden Scar Breast Cancer Surgery Training. Dr. Brown is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and member of the American Medical Association, the American Society of General Surgeons and the American Society of Breast Surgeons.
